Training Ride

NEW DATE!!!   June 2-3

Location:  WildCat Canyon, Click for Map, Coordinates: 37°29’07.3″N 104°58’11.2″W

Tennessee Lane is offering a group training ride at her home in WildCat Canyon, to help you prepare for the Spanish Peaks 100/75 (or any mountainous 100.)

Maximum of about 10 riders can attend this training session (for safety reasons.)

Since this training ride will be challenging and involve some speed, you will need to apply and qualify to attend (this will be for advanced horse/rider teams. This is NOT a beginner training ride, I expect you to be self-sufficient.)

Attendees will camp as you would at an endurance ride (the camp site will be near Tennessee’s home in WildCat Canyon.)  Horse water provided.

In order to keep a less demanding travel schedule, the first ride will be Saturday afternoon, and the second ride will be Sunday morning.

One horse per rider – you will ride the same horse Saturday and Sunday, it is a 2-part training exercise.

Social Dinner Saturday Night – We will have a social potluck-style dinner at my home on Saturday night.  Tennessee will provide a meat entree for everyone, probably local beef and game.  BYOB and your favorite side/appetizer/dessert to share.

This ride is timed specifically to peak your horse for the Spanish Peaks 100- The Wahatoya Cup.  Tennessee will personally lead the training rides, and will do her best to prepare you and your horse for the event.  Along the way, Tennessee will coach you and and offer advice to help you achieve your goals.

Enjoy the beautiful Spanish Peaks trails and good company while preparing yourself and your mount for a safe and successful ride!
